Convert Web Site from HTTP to HTTPS

The thread title says it all. The certificates are purchased and active on Go Daddy. They (Go Daddy) tell me I need to convert my web pages from HTTP to HTTPS to make it active. Any help will be appreciated.

You do not need to do anything within SS; the web pages are fine.

Changing from HTTP to HTTPS is a change in how your browser interacts with the server. It is a communications protocol change. The real problem with making this change is that the default is set to use HTTP and there is no way to easily change it.

If you are using a Linux server with GoDaddy, you can redirect all browser HTTP requests to your server to use the HTTPS protocol. You do this my editing your site's .httaccess file. If your site does not yet have a .htaccess file, you will need to create it. This file should contain the following:
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTPS} off
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI} [L,R=301]
NOTE: if you have a .htaccess file and the "RewriteEngine On" line is already present, delete it from the above code; do not use that line more than once.
